About Red Wash

The name carries a deeper meaning.

Red represents the blood of Jesus Christ — the blood that washes and redeems. The foundation of Red Wash is rooted in the Word of God.

The conviction

Faith, talent, purpose, service.

The name carries a deeper meaning. Red represents the blood of Jesus Christ — the blood that washes and redeems. The foundation of Red Wash is rooted in the Word of God.

We believe humanity's greatest hope is not found in talent, education, wealth or achievement. It is found in God. His Word guides us. His Word transforms us. His Word gives purpose to what He has placed inside us.

Red Wash exists at the intersection of faith, talent, purpose and service.

Our mission is simple: to help people discover their God-given talents, understand the purpose behind those talents, and create the environment and opportunities they need to use those gifts for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

The three-part mission

We don’t believe a God-given gift should exist without purpose.

  1. Discover

We help people discover the gifts and talents God has placed inside them. Sometimes a child's greatest gift is not found in a textbook. Sometimes it is found in a song, on a football field, on a stage, or in a poem.

  2. Understand

Talent without purpose can easily become an instrument for the wrong things. So we help people understand why they were given the gift, what it is meant to accomplish, and who it is meant to serve.

  3. Deploy

We create environments, provide resources and offer the support that allows those talents to be developed and used for their intended purpose — to serve, to impact, to transform.

How it started

No structures. No facilities. Just a conviction.

It began simply. We went into schools. There were no elaborate structures, no large facilities, no complicated programmes. Just a conviction, and a willingness to serve.

Volunteers gave their time. Resources were provided. And young people were given something they badly needed: a space to discover themselves.

We introduced creative activities that let young people explore what they are naturally gifted in — music, sport, poetry, acting, performance. Sometimes all a young person needs is someone to look at them and say: there is something inside you. Let's help you discover it.

Beyond talent

Sometimes the barrier is simply access.

Sometimes talent needs more than encouragement. Sometimes potential needs opportunity. And sometimes the biggest barrier between a young person and their future is simply access.

So Red Wash steps beyond talent development into practical support. We help young people with their education — from primary school and JSS through to senior high school and university. We pay school fees. We provide scholarships. We support young people who need someone to believe enough in their future to invest in it.

We don't just want to tell people they have potential. We want to help create the conditions for that potential to become reality.

The takeoff

A vision only becomes a movement the moment it leaves the ground.

Not a vision deferred. Not a plan sitting on paper. A plan with a starting line.

We will open the doors. We will gather the first cohort. We will go back into the schools — this time with structure, with mentors, and with resources behind us. We will build the platform, train the people who will go on to train others, and send them out.

Become a partner

When talent discovers purpose, impact becomes inevitable.

Red Wash is not simply about music, or sport, or education, or events. It is about people — and about refusing to let what God placed inside someone go to waste. Partnering with us puts resources behind that.
